Preface

When I sell one of my birds, I want it to receive the best care possible. So beginning in 1989 I provided an owner's manual to every one who bought one of my birds. Back then it was only three or four pages long, but I began to add new chapters as time went on. Originally, it was intended for new bird owners with limited experience with parrots. Now, it may be of interest to even the experienced aviculturalist. The range of the material covered in this publication runs from basic parrot care to what may be the largest compilation of information on caiques available. Much of the information contained in this Manual has come over fifteen years of reading about caiques and other parrots. The rest was learned from the many caiques that have shared my home. I hope this publication helps you to better understand your caique.

There are two ways to navigate The Manual. To read the "chapters" in sequence click the "Next' at the end of each section. To jump to a specific topic click the indicated hyperlink.
