This is the most politically active organization in the United States. You should join this organization to keep abreast of issues related to pet bird ownership. It also publishes The AFA Watchbird, which I consider one of the best publications on aviculture in the United States. You can find selected articles from its journal at its website. American Ornithologist' Union. This one of the premier ornithology organizations in North America. It publishes the journal The Auk. This is a German organization devoted to parrots. The caique was the Parrot of the month for May, 2001. Avian Health Network. Dr. Brightsmith is a Research Associate at Duke Univerisity and director of research director for Rainforest Expeditions that owns The Tambopata Research Center in Peru.
